POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position will assist in maintaining accurate software inventory records for license entitlements and allocations within the computing environment. This position is responsible for implementation controls in order to optimize cost, value, and risk of software supported by the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Enterprise Services. Assist in preparing documentation for software license renewals and negotiations, license audits, and maintain documentation to preserve information such as computer security access records, outside agency agreements, and contracts following established security processes and OIT Methods and Practices for shared resources.

Assists in maintaining current Disaster Recovery Plan for OIT. Assists with annual disaster recovery exercise and development of disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions and backup systems as it relates to enterprise infrastructure systems and network functionality. Assists with risk assessments and business impact analysis to identify the information technology services that support the Department s critical business activities.

Assists in maintaining proper software inventory records, with the review and update process needed to maintain documentation for area of responsibility such as Service Level Agreements with the Shared Resource Center, software vendors, proxy administration processes, etc. as required. Monitors and ensures compliance with service level agreements.

Assists with configuration change management activities and availability of all supported enterprise computing environments to document and manage associated risk. Responsibilities include collaborates with primary data center staff to monitor enterprise infrastructure environments to detect and document impacts and potential and future issues within highly integrated groups of mission critical applications residing on different platforms.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to work independently, plan, organize, coordinate and adjust work schedules to complete projects and other work assignments. Knowledge of Windows server operating systems, networking infrastructure, and hardware. Ability to plan, document and complete projects in a timely manner; Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; Ability to interact with organizational structure; Knowledge of Disaster Recovery planning, exercises, and practices. Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop reports and make recommendations Ability to solve problems and make timely decisions; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of vendor warranty, maintenance programs, and licensing terms for administration to ensure compliance. Knowledge of vendor licensing terminology and licensing entitlement rights. Knowledge of Information Technology asset management and inventory tracking tools.

MINIMUM
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree from a college or university and four years of experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or in planning or designing distributed computer systems; or a bachelor's degree from a college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems. Experience as described above can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
