Social Media Coordinator
Implement Polk-County Tourism and Sports Marketing's social media and e-marketing strategies that drive engagement with the Visit Central Florida brand and bring social media ideas to life though real time interaction and social monitoring. The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of the current social media landscape and have a passion for content development and writing.
o Maintains and manages all PCTSM social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest)
o Assists in developing and maintaining the content of all PCTSM websites and assists with editorial content of special events related to websites, blogs, social media accounts calendars and email communications.
o Manages editorial calendar and regularly creates blogs posts for two PCTSM bogs (sunnycentralflorida.com and catchcentralflorida.com) to create interest and awareness for events throughout Polk County. The purpose of the blogs is to drive traffic to PCTSM's websites and create engagement with the visitor.
o Assists in the implementation and promotion of e-marketing campaigns with consumes to promote attractions, dining and special events and measures the effectiveness of campaigns.
o Independently drafts, prepares, proofreads, types and posts stories or information on all PCTSM websites and social media outlets.
o Assists with coordination and implementation of tourism/sports special events.
o Engages PCTSM's online community and proactively respond to brand related conversations to build personal relationships with community members.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
o The ideal candidate will possess 1-2 years of experience within the social media team for a brand or agency.
o Experience managing consumer facing conversations and a corporate social media account.
o Firm understanding of how fans want to engage with brands on social media.
o Is familiar and comfortable with updating (non-programming related), navigating and utilizing each of the major social channels, including understanding the terms of use and best practices for each.
o Experience integrating social media efforts into broader media and marketing strategies.
o Experience developing content for social media channels.
o Strong written and oral communication skills
o Is familiar with creating editorial calendars and working interdepartmentally to create content.
o Has a passion for harnessing the power of social media to drive business results.
o Active learner and forward thinker who is able to identify evolving media trnds and has the ability to adapt quickly to new technology.
o Is a flexible individual, creative thinker and problem solver, accustomed to working in teams.
o Must have a passion for Polk County and be knowledgeable of the destination's culture, attractions, history, restaurants and trends.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited four year college/university, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing, or communications and have a minimum of one year experience in social media content creation, managing a social media campaigns using multiple platforms, working in a social media dashboard and providing analysis, interpreting analytics, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid driver's license or be able to secure a valid Florida driver's license at the time of employment.
A comparable amount of related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
