Summary:
The position ensures that product, packaging and process norms comply with quality and food safety standards for the company's beverage base blending/packaging facility located in Bartow, FL.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position performs the function of packaging working alongside of the filler operators to meet production requirements.
This job description is not an exhaustive list of all functions that the employee may be required to perform.
Filler operators will be the back-up for this position.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Monitor packaging and filling operations to ensure quality and conformity of packaged products in accordance to standards and monitor the packaging production line to forestall potential bottlenecks, pile-ups, jams or labels in the wrong location.
Perform the packaging operation in accordance with product packaging specification, sorts products for packaging and filling machine operation, monitors production order fill rate and packaging line efficiencies, replenish packaging materials as needed, inspect in-process packaging to ensure consistent quality and remove defective products and packaging material in the process, segregate finished packaged items from machine that conform to specification and separate rejected items, conduct inventory count on finished and rejected packaged items.
Make adjustments to machines and equipment for smooth operations and make certain that the pre-op inspection is complete before start-up.
Monitor the packaging production line to forestall potential bottlenecks, pile-ups, jams or labels in the wrong location and set up and change over machines for product run.
Responsible for set up machinery and ensure all production materials are available Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed Visually inspect production run and document results Determine and report malfunctions to appropriate parties Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned area Must work closely with blenders, other filler operators, and packaging.
Required to assist the quality lab with samples related to the blending process and be able to log them manually and/or electronically.
All documentation must be accurate and done timely.
Must follow GMP, Safety, SOP and HACCP procedures.
Meets all Good Manufacturing Practices.
Practices safety requirements established by OSHA and Peace River Citrus Products.
Be available to work extended shifts and days.
Any additional duties assigned by supervisor.
