Maintain a high standard relating to professional conduct and behavior.
Work cooperatively with other employees of the work unit and embrace a teamwork approach to completing tasks.
Essential Tasks:
Assist customers by providing information on the various types of mental health cases and professionally answering their questions and assisting with preparation of paperwork without giving legal advice.
Follow procedures for presenting petitions to the judge, setting cases for hearings and processing orders.
Process Mental and Public Health cases submitted by facilities.
Process Risk Protection Petitions (RPO's) submitted by attorneys or law enforcement officers.
Scan, E-File and perform data entry to build, reopen or close cases.
Prepare files for court and attend court.
Provide pertinent information to the judge and follow judge's instructions accordingly.
Perform statutory duties such as reporting certain orders to MECOM and the Dept.
of Agriculture.
Interact with representatives from various facilities, hospitals, DCF and court related agencies.
Occasional overtime may be required to cover court hearings or to assist late-arriving customers.
May be cross trained in other areas of Probate as time allows.
Being able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills/
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.
Ability to acquire or have knowledge of current procedures to accomplish tasks within areas of responsibility.
Ability to organize, prioritize and manage work to meet necessary time requirements and workload.
Ability to communicate well with people from varied backgrounds.
Ability to maintain attention to detail and to remain calm in an intense environment.
Ability to maintain professionalism, composure and high level of confidentiality when exposed to extremely sensitive situations.
Ability to remain flexible as conditions change and continue effective performance in the face of additional challenges.
Ability to make quick, objective decisions.
Knowledge of Florida statutes, Clerk's policies, and procedures.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of the organization and read and write English.
Ability to operate a PC and/or mainframe and related software applications.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to accurately type 35 wpm.
Six months related job experience is preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
