The Florida Department of Citrus (FDOC) is seeking a procurement/administrative professional to fill the position of Purchasing Agent I.
This position reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and performs a variety of purchasing, inventory, administrative, and grant management duties.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have three years of administrative experience, an intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, excellent communication skills, ability to prioritize assignments, and work as a team player.
Preference will be given to candidates with state purchasing policies/procedures/programs experience.
AGENCY DESCRIPTION:
The Florida Department of Citrus is a marketing and research agency utilizing progressive insights to maximize demand for Florida citrus through a fully integrated marketing and public relations program.
Based in Central Florida (Bartow), FDOC is responsible for domestic and international marketing, research and regulation of the $6.
9 billion Florida citrus industry.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Not all inclusive):
Solicit informal quotes for commodities not available on state contract, utilizing Department of Citrus and Department of Management Services rules.
Utilizing MyFloridaMarketPlace (Ariba), create purchase requisitions as required, following state purchasing rules/practices.
Verify pricing and accuracy of requisitions before issuing purchase orders.
Add/update vendor federal ID numbers in the Statewide Vendor File System.
Responsible for purchases and receiving of commodities.
Serve as first point of contact for staff and vendors on purchasing issues.
Assist with Request for Proposal (RFP) bid openings, as needed.
Maintain physical inventory and the perpetual tracking system (currently in Excel) for the Marketing Department.
Coordinate the completion of state and federal grant applications and required reports for current grants as required.
Stay current on state and federal grant processes, procedures, and regulations and guide FDOC staff accordingly.
Assist in managing contracts and services related to state and federal grant awards as needed.
Maintain budgets in accurate and organized order that is easily accessible and understood.
Balance all relevant budgets and expenditures, resolving all discrepancies.
Prepare accurate, detailed management reports on budgets as needed.
Perform miscellaneous other purchasing, administrative, inventory, and grant management duties assigned by the Purchasing Manager.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
A minimum of three years of administrative experience.
A college degree from an accredited college or university with four or more courses in business can substitute for up to two years of experience.
Experience with state purchasing programs/policies/procedures a plus.
Experience with state and/or federal grant rules and procedures a plus.
Intermediate level experience/knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel/Word/Outlook) a must.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, both internal staff and external clients.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
