Essential Attributes:
The Mission of the Clerk of Courts has a high degree of public accountability, regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.

Maintain a high standard relating to professional conduct and behavior.
Work cooperatively with other employees of the work unit and embrace a teamwork approach to completing tasks.
Essential Tasks:
Create, maintain, and close cases by reviewing Court Orders.
Timely and accurately respond to all Automated Random Moments (ARMARS).
Assist with indexing, scanning and e-filing of all documents.
Assist with the daily deposit, SDU download and warrant withdraw report.
Process Unemployment Compensation and IRS intercepts in order to apply proper credit for non-custodial parents/child support accounts.
Answer incoming telephone calls by assisting internal and external customers professionally with accurate information.
Rotate on a monthly schedule to assist with Cashiering and Customer Service at the front counter.
Interpret and explain case histories to Hearing Officers, Judges, Government Agencies, and clients.
Assist walk-in customers by answering routine questions or directing them to their destination within the department or to the appropriate agency.
Assist in performing lien related functions and SDU payment processing.
Prioritize all assigned work in order to meet time standards as required by Florida Statutes.
Being able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills/
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write correspondence and ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
Bilingual skills are encouraged.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to work cooperatively as a team member with other employees.
Ability to communicate well with people from varied backgrounds.
Ability to research resource materials.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to organize, prioritize and manage work to meet necessary time requirements and work load.
Ability to accurately type 35 WPM.
Ability to maintain attention to detail and to remain calm in an anxious, intense environment.
Ability to operate a PC and/or mainframe based systems.
Proficient use of Word and the ability to learn industry based software.
Ability to cover work of other employees to ensure that deadlines are met.
Ability to remain flexible as conditions change and continue effective performance in the face of additional challenges.
Knowledge of Florida statutes, County and Clerk's policies and procedures.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
